Kela’s appointment booking service

Palvelun toteuttaa Kela


Individual customers can book an appointment with a Kela specialist by phone and at service points. During their booked appointment, the customer gets one-on-one service tailored to their specific needs. Booked appointments are intended especially for customers who need one due to their circumstances or complex service needs. Kela can also book an interpreter for the customer to help them during their booked appointment.

Kela’s employees and partner organisations can use Kela’s appointment booking system to book an appointment for a customer. Kela’s employees can book an appointment for the customer either with phone customer service or at a service point. Partner organisations can book an appointment for the customer with phone customer service if the organisation’s representative has the Suomi.fi mandate ‘Booking appointments for social security benefits’. They can also view and cancel appointments on behalf of the customer.

Individual customers cannot use Kela’s appointment booking system to book appointments, but they can use it to view and cancel their booked appointments. Customers can also view and cancel booked appointments on behalf of another person if they have the Suomi.fi mandate ‘Manage social security benefits’ or a continuing power of attorney or if the customer serves as a legal representative or is the custodian or guardian of a child under the age of 18.

Kela’s appointment booking system

Kela’s appointment booking system can be used to book, view and cancel appointments that relate to managing a customer’s benefit matters.

Individual customers cannot use the booking system to book Kela appointments. Customers can, however, use the appointment booking system to view and cancel their own appointments. Customers can also view and cancel appointments on behalf of another person if they have the Suomi.fi mandate ‘Manage social security benefits’ or if the customer is the guardian of an underage child or a guardian or a person with a continuing power of attorney.

Kela’s partner organisations can book, view and cancel appointments on behalf of Kela’s customers if the partner organisation has the Suomi.fi mandate ‘Booking appointments for social security benefits’. Additionally, the partner organisation’s business ID (Y-tunnus) must be registered in Kela’s appointment booking system.

Use of Kela’s appointment booking system always requires strong electronic authentication.
